Keeping our FOCUS by keeping it SIMPLE
(How we do Reality
Checks)
We work hard at keeping it
simple. Here are three questions we ask:
1. Are we seeing every
aspect of our life as life with Jesus?
2. Are we seeing every aspect
of our church as life-centred?
3. Are we seeing every aspect of
our church as people-centred?
Where We are Going (Mission)
This is the whole point of God's Story. God is on the move, and as
followers of Jesus so must we. We are learning to be His representatives
wherever we find ourselves, whether gathered for worship or scattered
for mission.
What we see (Vision)
People living the kind of life Jesus intended the human race to live.
We
see people, in community, being spiritually transformed towards likeness
to Christ; cooperative friends of Jesus joining Him in His grand rescue
operation - to save the lost and make them into His disciples.
What it looks like today (Values)
We intentionally align ourselves with certain values through
simple, doable practices within the routines and rhythms of our everyday
ordinary lives. These values are like the hand rails of a rope bridge.
They keep us safe and they keep us on the path towards the kind of life
Jesus intended...a life like our Master's life.
1. Pursuing
life with God happens as we experience INTIMATE friendship with Jesus.
We pursue simple practices and routines that help us presence God
through prayer. We attend to our interior life by nurturing an intimate
relationship with Jesus
2. Pursuing life with God happens as
we take HIS WORD into our lives. We purpose to understand and
live out God's word in the routines and rhythms of our ordinary day to
day life.
3. Pursuing life with God happens as we build
Christ-centered RELATIONSHIPS - We care about what is happening in
the life of others because Jesus cares. We seek God's goodness for the
sake of others - whoever they are, wherever they are.
4.
Pursuing life with God happens as we CO-MISSION with Jesus. We
partner with Jesus to continue His ministry. We pray for the sick; we
care for the poor, and by the power of the Holy Spirit we are learning
to embody, demonstrate and tell the good news of the Kingdom of God in
the ways that draw people towards the living Christ.
